Membership in CARRA includes access to the Members-Only Collaboration site, free registration for the Annual Scientific Meeting, and opportunities to engage with CARRA Research Committees.
Below is information about each category of membership and the qualifications that must be met.
Voting Member, Pediatric Rheumatologist
Licensed pediatric rheumatologists who are either Board certified or Board eligible and who spend at least 50% of professional effort in pediatric rheumatology and lives in United States or Canada.
Voting Member, Sponsored
Health care professionals or research scientists in the United States or Canada who meet the following requirements:
- Sponsored by two CARRA Voting Members, one of whom must be from outside the candidate’s institution, AND served as the Principal Investigator of a study undertaken within CARRA
- for more than five (5) years committed at least 50% of professional effort in a field relevant to pediatric rheumatology, and published at least three peer reviewed articles in a field relevant to pediatric rheumatology.
Application Process: When applying for new membership as a Voting Member, Sponsored, you will be asked to provide the names of two CARRA voting members. Those members should submit their sponsorship letters to [email protected] Letter must comment on your % effort in pediatric rheumatology for the last 5 years.
A health care professional in the United States or Canada who actively cares for children with rheumatic disease.
International Associate Member
A practicing pediatric rheumatologist committed to at least 50% of professional effort in pediatric rheumatology who lives outside of United States or Canada.
Research Associate Member
A clinical research coordinator in the United States or Canada who actively works with studies related to children with rheumatic disease. Letter of sponsorship from CARRA Voting Member is required.
A physician licensed in the United States or Canada who is currently participating in an approved Pediatric Rheumatology* Fellowship program in the United States or Canada.
*A fellow from another field such as dermatology, allergy/immunology, and nephrology will be considered for trainee membership if he/she is working directly with a CARRA member in a pediatric rheumatology clinic. Letter of sponsorship from CARRA voting member is required for non-pediatric rheumatology fellows.
At the discretion of the Steering Committee, a CARRA member who is no longer active in clinical research can be identified as an Emeritus Member.
