The TRTC is excited to announce the funding of four projects through its new Biostimulus Collection Fund. This new mechanism was launched on April 1st with the purpose of supporting biosample collection within the CARRA Registry and the entire CARRA Network.

Project: Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics of Biologic Drugs in Obese Patients with Arthritis (PRECISE)

Project: Predicting Uveitis Onset in Children with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
PI: Sheila Angeles-Han, MD, MSc (Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center)
Funding Amount: $25,000
Project: Identifying Pharmacogenomic Predictors of Methotrexate Response and Metabolite Biotransformation in JIA, or PROMOTE (Predicting Response of Methotrexate Treatment)
PIs: Mara Becker, MD, MSCE (Duke University) and Susan Thompson, PhD (Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center)
Funding Amount: $25,000
Project: Fingerprinting Childhood Lupus
PI: Peter Nigrovic, MD (Boston Children’s Hospital)
Funding Amount: $25,000
Coming Fall 2021 - Advancing Biosample Collection Grants (ABC Grants). CARRA members can apply for an ABC Grant to support biosample collection for specific translational research projects. RFA availability will be announced this Summer and applications will be due October 1st. More details are coming soon.
